Invitation to Participate in "The Key to Learn English" Contest

If you are my student or a student at Henan University of Engineering (HUE),you are welcome to join the contest I’m about to announce. Since publishing my book, The Key to Learn English, I’ve been providing it to all HUE students for free.

Due to recent changes in my agreement with the company hosting my teaching website, I have made significant updates, including a new test for The Key to Learn English.

You can find the updated test here: Take the test - Feel free to take the test as many times as you want, just send me the score (on a print screen) when you get your 100% score 

If you don’t already have the book, feel free to message me on WeChat, and I’ll send you a free PDF copy.

I’m inviting all students to take the test again. The top three participants who score 100% will win a prize for first, second, and third place. Prizes will be awarded at the university, and we’ll take a picture together to celebrate!

As a freshman majoring in English at Henan University of Engineering, I recently revisited my teacher’s 2024 blog post about “The Key to Learn English” Contest.[庆祝] Although the contest has ended, and I read the book and wrote a review about it last semester, this post still gives me new inspiration for my English learning journey.[耶] Last semester, I read The Key to Learn English cover to cover and used the contest’s test as a review tool. What I loved most was the teacher’s “mistake-friendly, unlimited test attempts” rule—it turned errors into learning opportunities instead of sources of stress, which is far better than one-time stressful exams. This method was a game-changer for my test anxiety; I used to freeze up during exams, but now I see mistakes as stepping stones to improvement, a point I highlighted in my last semester’s review. The teacher’s generosity deeply touched me: he offered the book for free, sent PDF copies via WeChat to anyone who needed them, and even awarded cute plush prizes and took group photos with the 2024 winners. His style is student-centered and focused on long-term growth, not just scores. Compared to expensive online courses and rigid exam prep books, this free, flexible approach is much more practical and accessible for us students. As an English major, the solid foundation I built from the book and contest is crucial for my future career—whether I go into teaching, translation, or international communication.
